HOW IT HAPPENED: The Owls jumped out to a quick 6-4 lead in the first four minutes, but Pace came back with a seven point swing gave it a four-point lead. Southern started the second with an 11-3 run to close the Setters lead to one point, but Pace went on a 9-5 run to go into the half ahead, 31-26.
The Owls never led in the third quarter and Pace jumped out to a 10-point lead with four minutes left in the quarter. However, the Owls brought down the lead to five heading into the fourth. The Owls surged ahead and took their first lead since the first quarter at 48-47. Pace then used three straight 3-pointers as part of a late 9-2 run to take the lead for good.
UP NEXT: The Owls play at Stonehill on Friday night at 7 p.m. in the first round of the NE10 Tournament.
