NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. - The Southern Connecticut State University volleyball team swept Merrimack, 3-0 (25-19, 25-22, 25-22) to improve to 11-12 overall and 4-4 in the Northeast 10 while Merrimack drops to 5-15 overall and 3-5 in conference play.
Leanna Jadus (Long Beach, Calif.) led the Owls with 17 kills and 10 digs, as well as three service aces, while also hitting .349. Alyssa Gage (Beverly Hills, Fla.) had 13 kills and nine digs while also hitting a team-high .462. Freshman setter Kailyn O'Neal (Katy, Texas) recorded 39 assists in the Owls' win.
NOTES
- Jadus' double-double was her 12th of the season and ninth in her last 10 matches.Â
- Gage posted her first double-digit kill total in her last three matches.Â
- Gage also led all student-athletes with three blocks in the game, giving her 80 for the season.Â
- O'Neal's 39 assists are her second-highest total of the season, just behind her 44 assists at Bentley on Sept. 29.Â
