SCSU Volleyball Falls To Saint Rose, 3-1

ALBANY, New York - The Southern Connecticut State University women's volleyball team lost to the College of Saint Rose, 3-1 (21-25, 20-25, 25-20, 23-25) in a Northeast-10 Conference match-up at Daniel J. Nolan Gymnasium in Albany, New York. With the loss, SCSU drops to 9-11 overall and 3-3 in the NE10 while Saint Rose improves to 11-7 overall and 2-2 in conference play.

Leanna Jadus (Long Beach, Calif.), Gabriela Vazquez (Meriden, Conn.) and Kailyn O'Neal (Katy, Texas) all recorded double-doubles, as Jadus totaled 13 kills and 11 digs, Vazquez finished with 12 kills and 13 digs while O'Neal had a team-high 44 assists to go along with 12 digs. Jadus also finished with an ace and three blocks while Alyssa Gage (Beverly Hills, Fla.) tallied 13 kills and a team-high three blocks in the match.

NOTES
  • Jadus' outing  against the Golden Knights gives her her fifth consecutive double-double, and her eighth in her last nine games. Jadus currently leads SCSU in kills (234) and kills per set (3.44).
  • Vazquez recorded her second double-double in her last three matches.
  • Gage posted her fifth-straight match with double-digit kills, and her ninth such outing in her 10 events for the Owls. Gage also recorded four blocks in the contest to give her a team-leading 71 for the season. 
  • O'Neal posted her second-straight 40-assist outing while also recording her third-consecutive double-double. 
  • Kirstin Colwell (Coconut Creek, Fla) finished with six kills and a season-high four blocks.

Southern Connecticut State returns home on Friday, Oct. 5 to host Concordia in a non-conference match-up at 7 p.m. at Pelz Gym in New Haven, Conn.
