NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team dropped a 3-1 decision to No. 3 nationally ranked, Merrimack this morning at Jess Dow Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Senior Natasha Prukalski (Danbury, Conn.) put the Owls on the board early as she slotted the ball right side past the Warriors goalie.
- Merrimack struck next as Delaney Yule put one in off a rebound to tie the game. Both teams had their chances, but the score remained tied heading into halftime.
- The Warriors scored early into the second half to take a 2-1 lead and added another goal at 45:34 to increase their lead to two.
- Junior Brianna Craft (Hamden, Conn.) stood on her head against the No. 3 nationally ranked team in Division II, stopping 26 of 29 shots on goal and surpassing her previously recorded season-high 24 saves against SNHU.
