NEW HAVEN, Conn. -
Greta Brunello (Carisolo, Italy) scored her second goal of the year as the Southern Connecticut State University women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 contest to No. 11 Nationally Ranked Franklin Pierce University on Senior day at Jess Dow Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Ravens came out strong in the first half outshooting the Owls 11-1, scoring two goals in the first half at the 21:08 mark and again at 24:10.
- However, the Owls halftime adjustments proved effective as Southern outshot the Ravens 7-5 with the Owls notching a goal in the 89th minute of play off an uncleared corner kick that Brunello blasted into the top right corner to cut the Franklin Pierce lead in half.
-  Freshman Abigail Allen (Orange, Conn.) recorded three saves in the game and sophomore Meaghan Kelley (East Brookfield, Mass.) tallied three shots  to lead the Owls.
POSTSEASON
With this being the last regular season game, the Owls look ahead to the NE10Â Conference Tournament where they have been seeded in the #7 spot and will face the #2 seeded Southern New Hampshire on Tuesday, October 30 for a 7 p.m. showing.

Before the start of today's game the Southern Connecticut State University women's soccer program recognized its three-member senior class that included

Mikaela Magee.
