NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Senior
Juliana Santos (Newington, Conn.) scored her first goal of the season as the Southern Connecticut State University women's soccer team defeated Pace University in NE10 conference action this evening at Jess Dow Field. The Owls improved to 8-3 overall and 7-1 in conference play, as Pace University dropped to 3-7-1 overall and 1-6 in the conference.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both teams had ample opportunities in the first half as Pace had three scoring chances to SCSU's two chances. The Owls took the lead in the 35th minute of play as sophomore Meaghan Kelley (East Brookfield, Mass.) slid the ball from the right side to the center of the box to tee it up for Santos, who blast the ball past the goalie for her first goal of the season.
- The Owls defense held strong as they sealed the 1-0 win to claim their fourth clean sheet of the season.
- Freshman Abigail Allen (Orange, Conn.) made four saves between the pipes for the Owls in a huge conference win.
- This is Southern fifth straight win, which ties their longest winning streak since the 2014 season.
