SCSU Volleyball Falls To American Int'l, 3-0

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Southern Connecticut State University women's volleyball team lost to American International College, 3-0 (21-25, 25-27, 15-25) in a Northeast-10 Conference match-up in Springfield, Mass. With the loss, SCSU drops to 10-12 overall and 3-4 in the NE10 while AIC improves to 12-8 overall including a 6-2 mark in NE10 play.

Leanna Jadus (Long Beach, Calif.) and Kailyn O'Neal (Katy, Texas) both posted double-doubles, with Jadus tallying 10 kills and 10 digs while O'Neal totaled 22 assists and 10 digs. Jadus also produced three service aces while O'Neal had two blocks. 

NOTES
  • Jadus' double-double was her 11th of the season, and seventh in her last eight games. 
  • To date, Jadus leads SCSU in kills (254) at a 3.43 per-set clip. 
  • Jadus now has 1,242 career digs, which moves her into a tie for third place all-time at SCSU with Lauren McVey. 
  • Jadus and McVey are the only two student-athletes in Southern Connecticut volleyball history to reach 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs for their careers. 
  • O'Neal continues to have an impressive first season with the Owls, as her 22-assist out gives her at least 20 assists in 14 straight matches. 
  • O'Neal has also produced a double-double in four of her last five contests.

Southern Connecticut returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 13 when it travels to North Andover, Mass. to take on Merrimack in a NE10 matchup set for a 1 p.m. start.
