STORRS, Conn. - Senior
Isaiah McLeod (Cambridge, Mass.) led the Owls with 19 points as the Southern Connecticut State University men's basketball team dropped at 96-64 decision to the University of Connecticut in an exhibition game at Gampel Pavillion.
KEY PERFORMERS
- Mcleod led the Owls with 19 points, while he also grabbed eight boards and two steals in 30 minutes.
- Sophomore
Ulyen Coleman (Brockton, Mass.) tallied 10 points, one assist and one rebound in 35 minutes.
- Senior
Luke Beesley (Champaign, Ill.) registered eight points, grabbed 11 rebounds (four offensive, seven defensive) and had two assists in 33 minutes.
- Senior transfer
Kealen Ives (Providence, R.I.) saw his first action as an Owl and finished with eight points, three assists and two rebounds in 28 minutes.
- Sophomore transfer
C.J. Seaforth (Hamden, Conn.) scored seven points and pulled in two boards in 17 minutes in his Owls' debut.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Owls came out hot as they grabbed an early 17-11 lead. The Huskies' defense helped tie the game at 21 at the 11:48 mark. UConn would extend their lead to as much a 15 in the first half and took a 52-40 lead going into halftime.
- The Huskies took over in the second half as they increased their lead to 32 points and ended the game with the 96-64 win.

The Owls travel to Albany, N.Y. to face the College of Saint Rose on Nov. 14 for the first game of the 2018 season.
