NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team dropped a 7-0 decision to Adelphi University to close out the regular season this evening at Jess Dow Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• ​​​​​​Adelphi scored a goal just 22 second after the whistle was blown as Elissa Frein crossed the ball from the right side to Kate Manson to grab an early lead. The Panthers scored two more goals in the first half at the 10:29 and 18:40 minute mark. Despite being down 3-0 in the first the Owls managed to outshoot the Panthers, 8-6 shots on target.
• The Panthers came out strong in the second half scoring four goals to solidify their 7-0 win.
• Junior Brianna Craft (Hamden, Conn.) registered nine saves on the night, while senior Kelli McCombs (Bristow, Va.) recorded three saves in relief.
