HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Setters leaped out to a 7-2 lead in the first three minutes of play and increased their lead to 10 points midway through the first half, 22-12.
- The Owls offense awakened after two back-to-back three-point shots from
Jesper Sandager (Kongens Lyngby, Denmark) and
Isaiah McLeod (Cambridge, Mass.), which sparked an 11-0 run to take the lead with 6:29 remaining in the first quarter. A hard fought first half saw the Owls up by three at halftime.
-Southern came out strong in the beginning of the second half where they increased their lead up to as many as six points, until Pace went on a 9-0 run to take a one-point lead over the Owls. Neither team took full control of the game until the 2:13 mark when the Setters went on a 6-0 run off two quick three-pointers to give them a two possession lead with just over a minute left to play.
- A late game push from the Owls was not enough as the Setters went on to win, 67-60.
