Alyssa Gage (Beverly Hills, Fla.) registered a game-high 18 kills, while junior
Gabriela Vazquez (Meriden, Conn.) notched 11 kills and a .526 hitting percentage as the Southern Connecticut State University volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 win over Queens (N.Y.) tonight.

- Gage also added seven digs and posted a .424 hitting percentage.
- Vazquez also tallied seven digs for the Owls.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Game one was a close affair for the better part of the set. However, with the Owls leading 19-18, SCSU finished by scoring the final six points to claim the win.
- Southern's lead was 9-7 in game two before another run of six straight points gave the hosts some breathing room. The lead eventually stretched to 13 points en route to an 11-point win.
- Tied at 4-4 in game three, another 6-0 run for the Owls gave them a lead they wouldn't relinquish. The final 15-point margin was the largest of the game.
