NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Sophomore
Meaghan Kelley (East Brookfield, Mass.) scored the game-winning goal as the Southern Connecticut State University women's soccer team knocked off Saint Michael's in today's 3-1 win.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Saint Michael's got on the board first as it scored at the 3:27 mark to go up 1-0.Â
- The Owls tied it up in the 20th minute off a penalty kick scored by freshman
Kelsey Burr (Wallingford, Conn.), the first goal of her collegiate career. The Owls ended the half tied at 1-1.
- Southern broke the deadlock in the 67th minute, as Kelley (East Brookfield, Mass.) one touched shot off a cross from junior
Kelly Lamb (Ledyard, Conn.) to give the Owls a 2-1 lead. Late in the game, junior
Johanna Wahlen (Baden-Wurtemberg, Germany) scored a screamer to the bottom right corner over the goal to give the Owls a two-goal cushion and seal the 3-1 win over Saint Michael's.   Â

The Owls are back in action on Sept. 12 as they head to face cross-town rival, the University of New Haven.
