COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Southern Connecticut State University women's soccer team fell to Saint Michael's College, 2-1 in overtime at Duffy Field. The Owls fall to 7-5-1 overall and 4-3-1 in the Northeast 10, while the Purple Knights improve to 4-7-1 overall and 1-7-1 in the Northeast 10.
Senior Kelly Lamb (Ledyard, Conn.) scored her second goal of the season, while graduate student Allie Smith (Danbury, Conn.) made two saves through 92:17 minutes played.
How It Happened
- Saint Michael's got on the board early as Madeleine Morse scored her first goal of the season off a header in the third minute to give the Purple Knights a 1-0 lead.
- Lamb tied the game and put Southern on the board in the 33rd minute as senior Johanna Wahlen (Baden Wurtemburg, Germany) assisted on the play.Â
- The game remained tied throughout the second half. In overtime, Holly Spencer scored in the 92nd minute to give Saint Michael's the win.
