Volleyball Falls To Stonehill

NORTH EASTON, Mass. – The Southern Connecticut State University volleyball team fell to Stonehill College, 3-1, at Merkert Gymnasium. The Owls fall to 13-15 overall and 6-6 in the Northeast 10, while the Skyhawks improve to 16-9 overall and 9-4 in the NE10.
 
Freshman Gabriela Gaibur (Monroe, N.Y.) tallied a career-high 19 kills and added 10 digs and a service ace. Senior Tea Carter (Modesto, Calif.) tallied a double-double of 51 assists and 15 digs. Senior Jillian Chambers (Shelby Township, Mich.) collected nine kills and eight digs, while junior Abigail Epstein (Crystal River, Fla.) had eight kills, five blocks and two digs in the loss.

Notes
  • Tea Carter recorded at least 50 assists in a match for the fourth consecutive game, and the fifth time in her last six games.
  • She collected her ninth double-double of the season and third-straight with 51 assists and 15 digs.
  • Gabriela Gaibur recorded her fourth consecutive double-double and her fifth double-double in her last six games. She also broke a career-high in kills with 19, a feat she previously set against Adelphi on Oct. 29 when she had 15.
  • Abigail Epstein registered five blocks and has tallied three-or-more blocks in 13 games this season.
  • Anna Venard collected double-digit digs for the 11th consecutive game.
