Volleyball Topped By Saint Anselm, 3-1

MANCHESTER, N.H. - The Southern Connecticut State University volleyball team fell to Saint Anselm College, 3-1 at Stoutenburgh Gym. The Owls drop to 11-14 overall and 4-5 in the Northeast 10, while the Hawks improve to 17-8 overall and 7-2 in the NE10. 
 
Freshman duo Gabriela Gaibur (Monroe, N.Y.) and Ella White (Gurnee, Ill.) were the offensive leaders for the Owls against the Hawks. For the second-straight game, Gaibur has tallied double-digit kills, collecting 15 kills with a .379 hitting percentage, 10 kills and two service aces. White notched a career-high 15 kills with a .324 hitting percentage. Senior Jillian Chambers (Shelby Township, Mich.) registered eight kills, four service aces, three blocks and three digs, while fellow senior Tea Carter (Modesto, Calif.) collected a career-high 51 assists. Junior Abigail Epstein (Crystal River, Fla.) chipped in nine kills, four blocks and a service ace.

Notes
  • Gabriela Gaibur tied a career-high with 15 kills against Saint Anselm making it a fourth-straight game that she has been in double-digit kills. Her previous career-high was against Adelphi on Oct. 29. Gaibur's 15 kills and 10 digs make it her third double-double in four games.
  • Ella White tallied a career-high 15 kills. Her previous career-high was 14 kills against Bentley on Oct. 18.
  • Abigail Epstein registered four blocks and has tallied three-or-more blocks in 10 games this season.
  • Tea Carter's 51 assists against Saint Anselm makes it the 17th game this season with 30-or-more assists and in 11 of her last 12 games.
  • Carter's 51 assists are also a career-high that she has broken twice in her last three games.
  • Anna Venard collected 14 digs during the match making it the eighth-straight match with double-digit digs and the 21st match this season.
