Volleyball Defeats Assumption, 3-2

WORCESTER, Ma. – The Southern Connecticut State University volleyball team defeated Assumption College, 3-2, at Andrew Laska Gymnasium. The Owls improve to 13-14 overall and 6-5 in the Northeast 10, while the Greyhounds fall to 3-19 overall and 1-11 in the NE10.
 
Senior Tea Carter (Modesto, Calif.) notched 50 assists for the fourth time in her last five games, and also added 18 digs. Junior Abigail Epstein (Crystal River, Fla.) recorded a team-high 18 kills while freshman Gabriela Gaibur (Monroe, N.Y.) recorded a double-double with 13 kills and 20 digs. Freshman Ella White (Gurnee, Ill.) also added 14 kills ands senior Anna Venard (Thornton, Colo.) had 26 digs and four service aces.

Notes
  • Tea Carter recorded at least 50 assist in a match for the third consecutive game, and the fourth time in her last five games.
  • Gabriela Gaibur recorded her third consecutive double-double and her fourth double-double in her last five games. 
  • Abigail Epstein tallied a career-high 18 kills. Her previous career-high was 15 and set on Sept. 15 against Post.
  • Ella White's 14 kills made it the third-straight games that she has recorded double-digit kills. 
  • Anna Venard collected double-digit digs for the 10th consecutive game. She also registered five blocks and has tallied three-or-more blocks in 13 games this season.
  • Jillian Chambers collected her third game of 20 or more digs this season.
