Volleyball Picks Up Win In NE10 Opener Against Pace, 3-0

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Southern Connecticut State University volleyball team defeated Pace, 3-0 to improve to 8-6 overall and open Northeast 10 Conference play at 1-0. The Setters drop to 1-9 overall and 0-2 in NE10 play.

SCSU snapped a five-game skid behind the arm of Ariel Letcher (Sebastian, Fla.), who led all players with 14 kills and 11 digs for the double-double, while Ella White (Gurnee, Ill.) had a team-high 16 digs with nine kills. Abigail Epstein (Crystal River, Fla.) was 8-for-15 (.400) from the floor and Tea Carter (Modesto, Calif.) had 31 assists in the Owls win.

  • Ariel Letcher collected her third double-double of the season with 14 kills and 11 digs.
  • Anna Venard has collected double-digit digs in three out of her last five games.
  • With nine kills, Ella White moves to seventh in the NE10 in kills with 119, one of two freshmen with over 100 kills this season.
  • This is the fourth-consecutive year the Owls have opened NE10 conference play with a win.
