Gymnastics Finishes Second At Temple Tri-Meet

PHILADELPHIA, PA. - The Southern Connecticut State University gymnastics team finished second in a tai-meet against Temple and Cortland State in Philadelphia, Pa. Temple, who hosted the event at McGonigle Hall, won with a 190.675, while the Owls were close behind at 187.500, which lead Cortland State's 185.075.

Hannah Stahlbrodt (Cicero, N.Y.) posted an all-around score of of 38.775 for the second-best total of the field. Stahlbrodt finished in the top-4 in each event for the evening.
BARS
  • The Owls' first rotation saw Stahlbrodt post a team-best 9.700 on the bars that was good for second place.
  • Noely Macias finished tied for fourth with a 9.400 while Jacqueline Kutcher was eventh with a 9.350.
BEAM
  • Stahlbrodt posted a team-best 9.725 on the balance beam for a tie of third place.
  • Keara Loughlin finished in seventh with a 9.450.
FLOOR EXERCISE VAULT
  • Stahlbrodt once-again led the Owls on the vault, this time with a 9.650 for a tie of second place.
  • Cassidy Girolamo was tied for sixth with a 9.525.
UP NEXT
Southern will host Springfield, Cornell and Brockport on Sunday, Jan. 26 for its first of two home meets of the 2020 season. The Owls have dedicated the meet to Melanie Coleman
