The Southern Connecticut State University men's basketball team will take on the Adelphi University Panthers on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2020 at James Moore Field House to wrap up their three-game home stand. Adelphi is currently ranked No. 6 in the D2SIDA East Regional Poll.

All-Time Against Adelphi University: 22-9
The Last Time They Met: Southern and Adelphi split the season series a year ago, both teams recording wins on their home court. On Dec. 1, Southern won 85-69 as two Owls recorded double-doubles. Isaiah McLeod (Cambridge, Mass.) scored a game-high 26 points and grabbed 10 rebounds while shooting 11-18 from the field and Luke Beesley (Champaign, Ill.) scored 10 points and pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds. On Feb. 20, Adelphi defeated Southern 81-75. C.J. Seaforth (Hamden, Conn.) scored 30 points while shooting 11-14 from the field and 6-9 on three-pointers. Kealen Ives (Providence, R.I.) scored 23 points and went 5-9 from beyond the arc and Joey Wallace (Rochester, N.Y.) recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. 

Last Time Out
  • Southern defeated Pace University, 64-61, at James Moore Field House to win their third consecutive game. Pace was previously ranked No. 6 in the most recent D2SIDA East Regional Poll.
  • Taurus Adams II (Milwaukee, Wisc.) recorded his sixth double-double of the season by scoring a game-high 17 points and 11 rebounds. 
  • Seaforth finished with 16 points and three steals and redshirt junior Isaiah Boissard (Walden, N.Y.) finished with 10 points. 
  • Freshman Lyron Bennett (Boston, Mass.) scored seven points and grabbed nine rebounds. 
  • Greg Jones (Bronx, N.Y.) scored eight points, had four rebounds, four assists, blocked two shots, and recorded two steals. 
  • Boissard scored 10 points in his first game played since Nov. 26 against American International College.

  • Adams II is averaging 21 points per game and 9.75 rebounds per game in his last four games dating back to Dec. 4 against University of New Haven.
  • Adams II recorded his ninth career double-double against Pace and his sixth of the season.
  • Adams II is currently tied for second in the Northeast 10 in double-doubles.
  • Adams II rank second in the NE10 in offensive rebounds per game (3.6) and fourth in rebounds per game (8.6). 
  • Seaforth has scored at least 15 points in eight of his 10 games played this season. 
  • Bennett is 9-15 (60 percent) from three-point range since Nov. 26, a span of five games.
  • Jones is tied for first in the conference in blocks per game with 1.7, recording 17 total in 10 games.

  • Adams II was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll for the eighth week of the season for his performance against Pace. It is his fourth overall recognition.

  • The Owls' three-game win streak is their longest of the season. 
  • The Owls are 16th nationally in free throw percentage at 79.5 percent. 
  • Southern leads the NE10 rebounds per game (40.6) and is second inoffensive rebounds per game (12.6).
