NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Under the direction of the Connecticut State College and University System with the goal of limiting exposure to coronavirus (COVID-19), Southern Connecticut State University Director of Athletics Jay Moran has announced the cancellation of all trips outside of Connecticut through Mar. 22, including Spring Break competition for baseball, gymnastics, softball and women's lacrosse.
 
In addition, SCSU baseball's game at Mercy scheduled for Tuesday, Mar. 10 and gymnastics' meet at Towson on Sunday, Mar. 15 have also been canceled. Southern Connecticut State University will review all future athletic competition in the coming weeks.
 
Communication from Connecticut State College and University System President Mark E. Ojakian stated language applicable to intercollegiate athletic competition including:  

• An immediate freeze on all institutionally-sponsored travel outside of Connecticut until further notice. 

• Students, faculty, and staff are directed to postpone, cancel, or adjust all campus events and meetings, other than classes, that are expected to have 100 or more participants through at least April 30.
