The Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team will travel to Waltham, Mass. to face Bentley University in Northeast 10 conference play.

Spectator Policy
Bentley University Athletics has announced its 2021 Fall Sports spectator policy. More information on the spectator policies for each NE10 institution can be found here. 

Fans are allowed to attend events. When attending an outdoor competition on campus, masks are recommended for all unvaccinated spectators. Fully vaccinated spectators are not required to wear a mask outdoors, but are welcome and encouraged to do so if they choose.

All-Time Against Bentley: 2-17
The Last Time They Met: Bentley narrowly edged SCSU, 2-1 on Sept. 21, 2019. Kaitlyn Bourque scored her first career goal, while Brianna Craft made 23 saves.
Scouting the Game
  • The Falcons are on a two-game winning streak. They defeated Adelphi 2-1 on the road before capturing a 3-2 victory in overtime over Pace at home.
  • The Owls are coming off two tough conference losses to New Haven and No. 3 Assumption.
  • Bentley has a 2-2 away record this season, while the Owls are 1-3.
  • Ava Bevilacqua is the leading point getter for Bentley with five goals, two assists and 16 shots on goal. Bevilacqua also has one game-winning goal this season. Sam Simione will also be a player to keep your eye on as she has 28 shots, in addition to a goal and two assists this season.
  • Janelle Ward will be the Owl to Watch. Ward has been tremendous between the pipes for SCSU. She has seven games in double digit saves, and leads the conference in total saves, and the country in saves per game.
 
Last Time Out
The Owls were defeated by No. 3 nationally ranked Assumption on Oct. 9 at Jess Dow Field.

NE10/NCAA Ranks
  • Janelle Ward currently leads the NE10 with 121 saves.
  • Janelle Ward is first in NCAA DII in saves per game with an average of 12.62. She is also second in total saves (121) through eight games played behind Mercyhurt's Kayla Desormeau who has 102 through nine games played.
  • Megan Habakangas and Karen Sicha are tied for third in the conference in defensive saves with three each this season.

The Owls will travel to Pleasantville, N.Y. for a non-conference meeting with Pace University.
