Kelsey Burr (Wallingford, Conn.) scored the game-winning goal on a penalty kick to lift the Southern Connecticut State University women's soccer team to victory over Franklin Pierce, 1-0, at Jess Dow Field. The Owls improved to 4-5-1 overall and 3-3-1 in the NE10, while the Ravens fall to 6-3-2 overall and 3-3-2.

How It Happened
- The first half saw scoreless action between both squads, and each team mustered up six shots.Â
- In the 71st minute, a handball was called inside the box that sent the Owls to the line. Burr took the penalty kick and slotted it to the bottom left corner for her third goal of the season.
- In the 87th minute, graduate student Allie Smith (Danbury, Conn.) made a diving save to keep SCSU on top and secure the conference victory at home.Â
