The Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team will host No. 9 nationally ranked Adelphi for a Northeast 10 conference matchup on Friday, Oct. 22 at Jess Dow Field.

The Last Time They Met: Then-No. 6 nationally ranked Adelphi defeated SCSU, 8-1 on Nov. 2, 2019.

Scouting the Game
  • Adelphi is on a six-game winning streak dating back to Oct. 4 when the Panthers defeated No. 8 Saint Anselm, 2-1.
  • Kaitlyn Bourque is the leading goal scorer for SCSU with three goals, and has chipped in an assist and 10 shots. Brianna Shaw, who is on a three-game point streak, leads the team in shots with 21, 16 of those on target, and points with two goals and five assists this season.
  • Kaylee Deleva is the Panthers leading goal scorer with 14 goals and three assists to date. She also has 37 shots and two game-winners under her belt. Giana McKeough is another Panther to Watch with 10 goals, five assists, a team-leading 54 shots, and three game-winning goals.

Last Time Out
The Owls fell to Pace University, 4-1 on Tuesday, Oct. 19
  • Ward recorded her seventh-consecutive game with double-digit saves, while also posting her 11th in 13 games this season. 
  • Shaw picked up her team-leading fifth assist and ninth point of the year. The two-sport student-athlete, who also suits up for Southern's women's lacrosse team, has now recorded a point in three-straight games, totaling a goal and three assists in that span. 
  • With an assist against Pace following a goal against Southern New Hampshire on Oct. 16, Conselyea has now registered a point in back-to-back games.
  • Megan Habakangas tallied her first career goal and notched her conference-leading fourth defensive save.
  • Grace Conselyea recorded her second defensive save of the season.

NE10/NCAA Ranks
  • Janelle Ward currently leads the NE10 with 176 saves.
  • Janelle Ward is first in NCAA DII in saves per game with an average of 13.54 and first in total saves (176).
  • Karen Sicha and Megan Habakangas are in a four-way tie for first in the conference in defensive saves with four this season.
  • Megan Habakangas and Karen Sicha are also tied for fourth in NCAA DII in defensive saves.
