RINDGE, N.H. – The Southern Connecticut State University volleyball team dropped a 3-2 decision to Franklin Pierce University. The Owls fell to 17-8 overall and 3-3 in the Northeast 10, while the Ravens improved to 9-9 overall and 3-4 in the NE10.
Junior
Gabriela Gaibur (Monroe, N.Y.) was on the prowl on the offensive and defensive fronts. She picked up a game-high 21 kills, 20 digs, and two service aces. Sophomore
Taylor Jones' (Middletown, N.Y.) play making abilities were on display as the setter recorded 51 assists and 15 digs. Sophomore
Kacey Deecher (Granby, Mass.) had a 22 dig, 10 kill night, in addition to two service aces. Graduate student
Abigail Epstein (Crystal River, Fla.) recorded 13 kills and two blocks, while sophomore libero
Krishnalei So'oto (Oceanside, Calif.) recorded 24 digs.Â

- Taylor Jones has recorded double-digit assists in every single one of her appearances this season. She picked up her 11th game with 30-or-more assists, and had her seventh double-double of the season with 51 assists and 15 digs.Â
- Jones picked up her fourth game with 50-or-more assists this season against Franklin Pierce. The last player to have more than four 50-plus assist games was Tea Carter during the 2019 season when she had five.Â
- With 15 digs against Franklin Pierce, Jones also topped her career-high. Her previous career-high was set on Sept. 17 in a non-conference match against Franklin Pierce.
- Gabriela Gaibur broke a career-high in kills with 21. Her previous career-high was set during the 2019 season with 19 kills against Stonehill on Nov. 16, and then tied this season at Post on Sept. 10.
- Gaibur also notched her 16th double-double of the season with her 21 kills, 20 dig performance against Franklin Pierce.
- Kacey Deecher notched her fifth-straight double-digit dig game of the season with 13 digs.
- Deecher recorded her second career double-double with 22 digs and 10 kills.Â
- 22 digs are also a career-high for Deecher. Her previous career-high was set on Oct. 12 against Mercy when she had 17.
- Deecher's 10 kills also tie a career-high she previously set against Mercy on Oct. 12.
- The last time the Owls had three-or-more players with 20-plus kills in a game was against Assumption Nov. 9, 2019, when Anna Venard (26), Jillian Chambers (23), Gabriela Gaibur (20), and Jennifer Dawson (20) achieved the feat.
- This was just the third time this season that the Owls have gone five sets with an opponent.
