NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut State University volleyball team defeated Saint Michael's College, 3-0, at Pelz Gymnasium. The Owls improved to 19-8 overall and 5-3 in the Northeast 10, while the Purple Knights fell to 1-11 overall and 0-8 in the NE10.

How It Happened
- Saint Michael's started out strong with a 6-1 run to open the first set. Southern Connecticut responded with a 4-0 run and came within one. After the Purple Knights scored three-straight points, the Owls countered with a commanding 20-2 run to finish the set, 25-11.
- Set two saw the Owls continue their offensive firepower. Southern limited Saint Michael's to single-digit scoring points and defeated the Purple Knights by 16, 25-9.
- The Purple Knights began to find a rhythm at the beginning of set three as they outscored Southern, 7-5. The Owls picked up the next nine-straight points on Jamie Allen's serve, which was enough to ward off the Purple Knights. Southern closed out the match with a 25-16 victory.
