The Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team will close out the 2021 season on the road at Molloy College on Monday, Nov. 1.

Spectator Policy

  • All spectators are required to mask indoors as Molloy College will not be checking vaccination status of spectators. Social distancing guidelines are recommended. It is advised that unvaccinated spectators consider universally masking at outdoor contests.

The Last Time They Met:
The Owls defeated the Lions, 4-1, on Oct. 12, 2019. Southern Connecticut received goals from Karley Welles, Jessica Maier, Ellie Craft, and Janelle Ward. Brianna Craft collected five saves.

Scouting the Game

  • Kaitlyn Bourque is the leading goal scorer for SCSU with three goals and has chipped in two assists and 12 shots. Brianna Shaw leads the team in shots with 22, 17 of those on target, and points with two goals and five assists this season.
  • Kyra Dalli leads the Lions in goals this season with four and has added 16 shots.
  • Janelle Ward has been the Owls go-to in goal. She has made 223 saves through 16 games played.
  • Ally Saigh has been the Lions starting keeper much of the season. Saigh has made 110 saves.


Last Time Out
The Owls fell to No. 10 nationally ranked Stonehill on Oct. 29. 


NE10/NCAA Ranks

  • Janelle Ward currently leads the NE10 with 223 saves.
  • Janelle Ward is first in NCAA DII in saves per game with an average of 14.07 and first in total saves (223).
  • Karen Sicha and Megan Habakangas are in a three-way tie for second in the conference in defensive saves with four this season.
  • Megan Habakangas and Karen Sicha are also tied for seventh in NCAA DII in defensive saves.
