The Southern Connecticut State University women's soccer team will host Stonehill in its regular season finale, which will prove to be an important match as both the Owls and the Skyhawks are in the hunt for a NE10 postseason berth. Due to the continued presence of COVID-19, postseason seeding will be determined on conference winning percentage. Entering Wednesday's match, the Owls have a 50% winning percentage against conference opponents, while Stonehill has a 45.83% winning percentage. With a win or a draw, the Owls will clinch a berth. If Stonehill wins, they will clinch the eighth seed in the tournament.Â

The Last Time They Met: The last time these two sides met was on Nov. 5, 2019 where the Owls and Skyhawks played to a 1-1 draw.Â

The Owls upset No. 7 nationally ranked Saint Rose, 1-0, on Oct. 30. Emma McMurray scored the game-winning goal on a feed from Kaitlyn D'Amico in the 33rd minute. Allie Smith picked up seven saves in the shutout.Â
Scouting the Match Against Stonehill
- The Owls are coming off a 1-0 victory over No. 7 Saint Rose on Oct. 30, while the Skyhawks are coming off a 5-0 victory over Pace on Nov. 1.
- SCSU is 4-1-2 at Jess Dow Field this season, while Stonehill is 3-5 on the road.
- Kelsey Burr leads Southern's attack with four goals and an assist this season. Three of her four goals have been game-winners.Â
- Camryn Thompson is the leading goal scorer for the Skyhawks with six goals and one assist. Thompson has 63 total shots this season, 25 of which have been on target. She also had a goal and an assist in the Skyhawks 5-0 victory over Pace on Nov.1. Lauren Clement will be another Skyhawk to keep your eyes on. Clement netted two goals, two assists and had three shots in Stonehill's win over Pace.
- Allie Smith has been solid in goal for SCSU. Smith has made 67 saves which is good for an .838 save percentage, and six shutouts.
- Hannah Copley has been the Skyhawks starter in 13Â of their 17 games this season. Copley has a .723Â save percentage, 47 saves, and two shutouts.
- The match features a set of twins–Lindsay Burnham, who is a sophomore midfielder for SCSU, and Taylor Burnham, who is a sophomore back for Stonehill.
- SCSU will have had three days rest heading into the matchup on Wednesday, while the Skyhawks will have had one full day.Â

- Allie Smith is fifth in the conference in total saves with 67 on the season. She is also tied for second in shutouts with six.
- Kelsey Burr is tied for fourth in game-winning goals with three this season. Kaitlyn D'Amico is tied for 10th with two.
