The Southern Connecticut State University women's basketball team will play one game this week as they head to Orangeburg, N.Y. to face Dominican College in non-conference action.

Last Time They Met: The Owls and Chargers last faced one another on Dec. 30, 2018 where Southern took an 85-71 victory.
Imani Wheeler notched a career-high 23 point en route to victory.
Matchup Preview
The Owls kicked off the 2021-22 season with matches against Georgian Court and Bloomfield. Southern fell to Georgian Court, 85-80, before defeating Bloomfield the following day, 77-51.
- Jessica Fressle picked up 38 points and 24 rebounds, almost mirroring her 2019-20 start where she had 43 points and 20 rebounds through the first two games.
- Zoë Amalbert, Delaney Connors, and Patricia Conroy all had two solid showings in their Southern debuts. Amalbert recorded 32 total points, 11 rebounds, nine assists and seven steals. Connors picked up 22 points and 16 rebounds. Conroy has 18 points, seven assists, and two steals, while shooting 55% from three-point range and 40% from the field.
On the flip side, Dominican is off to a 2-0 start with victories over Mercy, 86-79, and Saint Thomas Aquinas, 71-52.
- Taylor Tomlinson is the leading scorer through the first two games with 38 points and has shot 65.4% from the field. Tomlinson has also picked up 10 boards, four blocks and two assists.
- Casey Carangelo has also been a key contributor for the Chargers. Carangelo has 14 points, while shooting 33.3% from the field, and has added 13 rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Notes After the First Two Games
- Through the Owls first two games of the season, Fressle is averaging 19 points and 12 rebounds, and has converted on 18-of-19 from the free-throw line. She also leads the team with nine offensive rebounds.
- Amalbert, a transfer to Southern from NYIT, is averaging 16 points per game as well as 5.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 3.5 steals per game.
- Connors shrugged off a five-point performance in the Owls' season opener and exploded for a double-double in her second game. She is averaging 11 points and 8.0 rebounds through two games.
- Patricia Conroy has converted on 6-of-11 from three-point range to lead the team in both categories while averaging 9.0 points.
- First-year Owl Meagan Bianchi, a transfer from Bryant, is averaging 5.5 points in 11 minutes per contest while Alexa Kellner is averaging the same on the strength of 3-of-6 shooting from long range in just 10 minutes per contest.
- Freshman Katie Williamson, who has started both games for the Owls is averaging 6.5 rebounds per contest through her first two career games.
