Jefferson, 2-1 on the year, is coming off a 2019-2020 season in which they went 27-4 and 18-1 in the CACC, which included a 14-2 record at home. Jefferson was the three seed in the 2020 NCAA Tournament before it's cancellation. This season, Jefferson was rated the preseason favorite in the South Division in the CACC. They have wins against American International and Kutztown thus far, with a loss to Franklin Pierce. This will be the Rams' home opener.
Jefferson is guided by legendary National Baseball Hall of Fame head coach Herb Magee, now in his 54th and final season. Magee's teams posted have posted a record of 1,125-445 (.717 winning percentage). He is second all-time in NCAA victories, trailing only Duke's Mike Krzyzewski (1,174). Magee is also the only basketball coach to have achieved that many wins at his alma mater.
