The Southern Connecticut State University women's basketball team will travel to American International College on Tuesday, Nov. 23 for its first Northeast 10 Conference matchup of the season.

All-Time Against AIC: 16-30
Last Time They Met: Southern and AIC last met on Feb. 8, 2020 where the Owls captured a low-scoring, heavily defensive victory, 49-34, over the Yellow Jackets on the road. Jessica Fressle picked up a game-high 22 points and added 11 rebounds and two blocks. 

Matchup Preview
Through the first three games of the season, the Owls have picked up one win and two losses, all in non-conference action. This will be Southern's first conference game of the season, while the Yellow Jackets played one NE10 contest, a loss to Pace, 70-63, on Nov. 20.

  • The Owls offense has been led by graduate student Jessica Fressle and senior Zoë Amalbert, who have a combined 102 of Southern's 220 points scored through three games. 
  • Amalbert leads the squad in assists (17) and steals (8), while Fressle leads in rebounds (32). Fressle is averaging a double-double of 18 points per game and 10.7 rebounds per game. 
  • On the flip side, American International is led by Destine Perry, who leads the Yellow Jackets in points (42), points per game (14.0), and assists (8). Perry is also shooting 41% from the field and 62% from three-point range. Another key player for AIC is Kyla Smith, who is first in rebounds (15), and second in points (38) and assists (7).
  • Prior to the Owls picking up the most recent victory between the pair in 2020, the Yellow Jackets won the last 10 meetings dating back to 2014.
