Southern Connecticut football is back in action after its bye week when it travels to Pleasantville, N.Y. to take on Pace on Saturday, Nov. 6 at 12 p.m. at Pace Stadium. The Owls enter the game at 4-4 overall and 3-3 in the Northeast 10 while Pace is 1-7 overall and 1-5 in conference play.

ALL-TIME AGAINST PACE
Saturday's game will be the 28th meeting all-time between the two teams, with the Owls holding a 23-4 advantage in the series. Pace has won three-straight games in the series, including both games last season.

THE OWLS' LAST TIME OUT
  • Southern is coming off a bye week and did not play last weekend. Against Franklin Pierce on Oct. 23, Tylon Papallo put together an all-time great performance as he became the first player in Southern Connecticut history to throw a touchdown, catch a touchdown and run for a touchdown in the same game.
  • Papallo tallied four receptions for 127 yards including a 67-yard touchdown, while also running for a pair of touchdowns and passing to Izaiah Sanders (Stamford, Conn.) for a score.
  • Sanders matched a career-best with nine catches for a season-best 124 yards and his second two-touchdown game of the season.
  • Freshman quarterback Marc Reali (Biddeford, Me.) completed 26 passes for 378 yards and two touchdowns.
  • Defensively, Robert Nunez (Valley Stream, N.Y.) led the Owls with nine tackles, while Elijah Alexandre (Stratford, Conn.) and Ben Eichman (Merrimack, N.H.) both tallied interceptions.
SCOUTING THE SETTERS
  • Pace will host the Owls on Saturday, Nov. 6 with a record of 1-7 overall and 1-5 in NE10, with their only win of the season coming in an overtime victory at home against Franklin Pierce.
  • The Setters feature three players with at-least 45 carries, led by quarterback Carlton Aiken's 70 rushes for 209 yards. Brandon Sobotker sits at 55 carries for 234 yards while Kashmier Jackson has 46 carries for a team-best 265 yards at a 5.8 yard-per-carry average.
  • Under center, Aiken has amassed 1,082 yards on 75-for-152 (49.3%) passing with 10 touchdowns against five interceptions.
  • Ramir Tann-Davis leads Pace's receiving corps with 32 catches for 501 yards and four touchdowns.
  • On defense, Dustin Huseinovic has a team-best 85 tackles and has forced two fumbles.
  • Nasier Givens leads the team with 9.5 tackles for loss including 4.5 sacks while also compiling 52 tackles.
OWLS NOTES
  • Freshman quarterback Marc Reali has started the Owls' last two games, a loss against Bentley and a win at Franklin Pierce, and enters the game with 590 passing yards while completing 60.2% (53-88) of his passes with the touchdown passes.
  • Against Franklin Pierce, Reali was 26-for-41 for 378 yards and two touchdowns.
  • Diante Wilson is the Owls' leading rusher with 373 yards on 65 carries in six games including a 5.7 yard-per-carry average and a touchdown.
  • Tylon Papallo came to Southern as a wide receiver but has emerged as the Owls' weapon out of the Wild Cat. Papallo has compiled 63 yards on 11 carries under center, with two touchdowns.
  • As a receiver, Papallo has 24 catches for 428 yards with four touchdown catches and is averaging a team-best 17.8 yards per reception.
  • Izaiah Sanders leads Southern, and the NE10, in receptions (44) and yards (584), which ranks fourth in the conference, as well as touchdown catches (5) and averages 73 yards per game.
  • Sanders is coming off a season-best game in which he totaled highs in catches (9) and yards (124) while also catching two touchdown passes for the second time this season.
  • Raborn Dismuke had a break-out game against Franklin Pierce, totaling a season-best five receptions for 77 yards.
  • Anthony Ligi broke through for his first touchdown on the season in the Owls' win at Franklin Pierce.
  • Eight different players have accounted for the Owls' nine rushing touchdowns this season.
  • First-year Owl Robert Nunez passed Hasan Dominick for the team lead in tackles with a nine-tackle performance at Franklin Pierce. Nunez has compiled 52 tackles, including two sacks and leads the team with 4.5 tackles for a loss.
  • Dominick sits at 49 tackles with a team-leading three sacks.
  • Harrison Smith has matched Dominick's sack total for the year, while also recording 16 tackles.
  • Defensive back Kwadir Delgado-McIntyre has accumulated 41 tackles as well as five for a loss, two interceptions and one forced fumble.
  • The Owls have recorded an interception in four-straight games and sit at 10 on the year with two takeaways against Franklin Pierce and a season-best three INT's against Assumption.
  • Jack Bachand has handled a majority of the Owls' kicking duties this season, totaling 1,219 yards on 40 punts for a 30.48 per-punt average, including nine punts inside the opponent's 20 yard line and 11 fair catches.
  • Szymon Gawlick is 19-for-20 on extra-point attempts and remains a perfect 9-for-9 on field goal attempts. Gawlick ranks seventh in the NE10 with 46 points at a 6.6 per game average.
  • Shawn Martin has been the Owls' top kick returner this season, ranking third in the NE10 with 564 yards on 26 returns for a 21.7 yard average.
UP NEXT
Southern returns home for its final game of the 2021 season when it hosts Stonehill on Saturday, Nov. 13 at 12 p.m. at Jess Dow Field. The Owls will honor their seniors prior to the start of the game.
