The Southern Connecticut State University women's basketball team will The College of Saint Rose in Northeast 10 conference action at Moore Field House. The Owls currently sit second in the Southwest Division of the Northeast 10 Conference, while the Golden Knights sit fourth.

Last Time They Met: Southern captured the 56-46 victory against Saint Rose in their last meeting against one another on Feb. 20, 2020. Jessica Fressle had a game-high 19 points and added five rebounds, four steals and a block, while Alexa Kellner had 11 points, nine rebounds and two steals.


Matchup Preview

  • Southern has captured victories 11 of its last 12 meetings against Saint Rose. The Golden Knights last defeated the Owls, 73-66, at home on Dec. 3, 2016.
  • Southern's balanced offense has been the key to their attack through the first six games. Jessica Fressle is currently averaging a double-double of 19.3 points per game and 13.2 rebounds per game. Patricia Conroy leads the Owls from three-point range with a shooting percentage of 49-percent and averages 12.2 points per game.   • Saint Rose's offense is led by Nina Fedullo, who leads the team in points (63) and points per game (10.5). Fedullo also leads the squad on the defensive end in total rebounds (38), rebounds per game (6.3), and blocks (13). Becca Townes is another key contributor for the Golden Knights. Townes is second on the team in total points (57), points per game (9.5), total rebounds (32), rebounds per game (5.3), and leads the team in assists (20) and steals (14). 
  • Southern is coming off an 83-64 victory over New Haven on Dec. 1, while Saint Rose is coming off a 58-54 victory over New Haven on Dec. 4.
  • In the Owls last match, they were led by graduate student Jessica Fressle who had 26 points, 14 rebounds, four assists and four steals. Graduate-student Patricia Conroy shot 75-percent from three-point range, which was good for 21 points. Senior Zoë Amalbert shot 50-percent from the field with 17 points, 10 assists, and two steals.
  • Fifth year forward Fedullo and sophomore guard Isabel Sanchez led Saint Rose in their last match against New Haven with 13 points each. Junior Townes recorded 10 points, while sophomore Naeva Rene had a team-high seven rebounds.

  • Zoë Amalbert is first in the conference in total assists with 35 and second in assists per game with 5.8. 
  • Jessica Fressle is third in rebounds per game (13.2) and fourth in the conference in points per game (19.3). Fressle is also third in total rebounds with 79 and sixth in points (116).
  • Patricia Conroy is tied for first in the conference in three-pointers made with 20 on the season.
  • As a team, the Owls are first in the conference in three-pointers made (58) and first in three-point shooting percentage (34.7). 
  • Southern is first in assists with 17.2 per game and third in the conference in rebounds per game with 44.3.

  • Zoë Amalbert is 13th overall in assists per game (5.8) and tied for 35th in total assists (35).
  • Jessica Fressle is 10th in rebounds per game (13.2) and tied for 13th in total rebounds (79). Fressle is also tied for 30th in points per game (19.3).

Southern heads on the road for a two-game stint.
