Softball Falls in Extra Innings in the First Round of the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut State University softball squad fell to American International College, 3-2 in extra innings, in the First Round of the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament.
 
The Owls finish the season with an overall record of 14-15.

  • The game broke open in the bottom half of the third inning as Jacqueline Dumont knocked an RBI single to shallow center field to bring home Angela Barresi (Windsor, Conn.), who put the jets on from second base.
  • Jayden Delaporta got on the score sheet in the fourth inning as she blasted a solo home run to left-center field to give the Owls a two-run lead.
  • AIC responded in the sixth inning scoring two runs, tying the game.
  • The action went into extra innings, where AIC scored the eventual game-winning run in the eighth on a ground out to take the lead, 3-2.
 
Notes
  • Jayden Delaporta recorded her fifth career home run and first of the season.
  • The Owls finished the season with their best winning percentage (.483) since the 2015 season (.528).
