Southern Connecticut State University men's and women's swimming & diving will host the College of Saint Rose and Adelphi University on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022. 

UPDATED SPECTATOR POLICY
As Southern Connecticut State University has elected to move to remote operations for the week of Jan. 3, 2022, SCSU Athletics will adjust its intercollegiate athletics schedule and spectator policy, effective immediately. In working towards the goal of ensuring a normal competition schedule for its student-athletes, SCSU Athletics has decided to prohibit spectators from attending events at the James Moore Field House and Hutchinson Natatorium until further notice.
 
University and athletic department officials will continue to monitor any changes to public health guidelines and adjust accordingly.

Live video for every home contest will be available free-of-charge on The Owls Network, which can be accessed by visiting www.scsuowls.com/theowlsnetwork. In addition, live updates during each event will be available on @SCSU_SwimDive_ as well as @SCSU_WBB and @SCSU_MBB on Twitter. NE10 CHAMPIONSHIPS TO BE HELD AT BRUCE HUTCHINSON NATATORIUM
Due to the impact of the recent surge in the COVID-19 pandemic, the Northeast-10 Conference announced its revised plans for the upcoming winter championship season in the sports of men's and women's basketball, men's ice hockey and men's and women's swimming & diving. The NE10 Athletics Council voted to adjust the NE10 Swimming & Diving Championship dates to Thursday, Feb. 17 through Sunday, Feb. 20 to provide additional competitive opportunities for the Conference's swim programs prior to the start of the Conference championship. With the date change, Southern Connecticut State University was chosen to host the 2021-22 NE10 Swimming & Diving Championships at Bruce Hutchinson Natatorium.

WOMEN'S NOTES
Southern Connecticut women's swimming & diving is coming off a 177-108 victory against Northeast 10 Conference foe Pace on Dec. 10, 2021.
  • The 400 Medley Relay team of Olivia Strelevitz, Lindsay McCawley, Ella Marzec and Justice Glasgow won the event with a time of 4:11.79, for the program's top time of the season.
  • McCawley continued her impressive collegiate debut with wins in the 200 Freestyle (2:01.72) and the 200 Backstroke (2:14.38).
  • Strelevitz also won the 200 Back with a time of 2:14.38, which stands as the Owls' top time of the season in the event.
  • Glasgow also took the 100 Butterfly with a time of 1:00.91. Glasgow's time was Southern's top time of the year.
  • Nicholle Denault won the 1 Meter Diving event with a score of 203.63 and finished second in the 3 Meter with a score of 177.53.
  • Arianna Arturi also won a pair of events, taking the 50 Free (25.59) and the 100 Free with the team's top time of the season at 55.78.
  • Gracie Marsh picked up a win in the 1,000 Free (11:28.20)…Nicole Cislo won the 100 Back with the Owls' season-best time of 1:12.09…Faith Littleton took the 500 Free (5:33.08)…Hannah Nyquist captured the 200 Butterfly (2:21.41) and Brooke Keeney won the 400 Individual Medley (4:55.95).
MEN'S NOTES
The Southern Connecticut men's swimming and diving team defeated Pace University, 158-121. The Owls took the top spot in 10 of the 16 events.
  • The Owls were victorious in the 400 Yard Medley Relay as Derek Melanson (Plantsville, Conn.), Chandler Tucker (Bellmore, N.Y.), Mike Aiello (Monroe, Conn.), and Timothy Kanaley (Sayville, N.Y.) took first place with a time of 3:40.75.
  • Franklin Kuhn picked up a pair of wins in the 50 Freestyle (23.37) and the 100 Freestyle (50.09).
  • Tucker also posted wins in the 100 Breast (59.01) and the 200 Back (2:01.97). Tucker's time in the 100 Breast stands as the top for the Owls this season.
  • Kanaley added to his win total with a 5:02.58 for first place in the 500 Freestyle.
  • Kobe Dominguez won the 100 Backstroke with a team-, season-best time of 55.36…Dylan Prescher won the 100 Freestyle with a time of 10:45.90…Henry Velazquez was first in the 200 Butterfly with a time of 1:58.74…Bobby Hahn took the 200 Breaststroke with a time of 2:13.99, good for the Owls' top time this season.
