The Southern Connecticut women's basketball team will head to Worcester, Mass. to face Assumption University in Northeast 10 conference play on Tuesday, Jan. 25. The Owls are fourth in the Southwest Division of the NE10, while the Greyhounds are sixth in the Northeast Division.

Last Time Out
Southern fell to Franklin Pierce, 77-66, on Jan. 19. Jessica Fressle recorded 25 points and 15 rebounds, while Patricia Conroy contributed 16 points and Delaney Connors had 10.
All-Time Against Assumption: 22-18
Last Time They Met: Assumption captured the 68-52 victory over Southern on Jan. 28, 2020. Player-turned-assistant coach Imani Wheeler had 26 points, five rebounds, and four steals for the Owls in that matchup.
Matchup Previews
- Jessica Fressle is heating up for the Owls. This season she is averaging a double-double of 17.1 points per game and 10.9 rebounds per game, in addition to 2.2 steals per game. From the field, she is shooting 40-percent and 82-percent from the free throw line. In her last outing, she led the way with a game-high 25 points, 15 rebounds, and six steals.
- The Owls are coming off of five-straight losses, four of which were in conference play against Pace, Adelphi, Bentley, and Franklin Pierce.

- Meghan Cramb has been the Greyhounds lead point-contributor, averaging 11.9 points per game, while shooting 37.2-percent from the field and 38.8-percent from the field. Like Cramb, Amanda Mieczkowski is another key player for Assumption. She has started all 14 games for her squad and amassed 131 points, while shooting 42-percent from the field, and has a 90-percent accuracy from the free throw line.

Southern Connecticut fell out of the top ten rankings in the East Region in the Jan. 3 Women's Basketball Division II Media Poll, sponsored by D2SIDA, but still received votes in the Jan. 18 poll. Other Northeast 10 Conference Schools ranked are: Southern New Hampshire (1), Pace (3), Le Moyne (4) Bentley (5), Saint Anselm (9), while Stonehill is receiving votes alongside the Owls.

- Zoë Amalbert is first in the conference in total assists with 93 and first in assists per game with 7.2.
- Jessica Fressle is second in rebounds per game (10.9) and fourth in the conference in points per game (17.1). Fressle is also third in free throws made (73-89), third in total rebounds with 142 and sixth in points (222).
- Patricia Conroy is tied for fourth in the conference in three-pointers made with 28 on the season.
- Amalbert and Conroy are fifth (38.2) and sixth (37.8), respectively, in three-point shooting percentage.
- As a team, the Owls are first in the conference in three-pointers made (106), first in assists with 16.5 per game and fourth in points per game (68.5).
