The Southern Connecticut State University men's basketball team will begin the 2022 calendar year on the road against Adelphi on Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2021. This is Southern's first game since Dec. 17, and first road game since Nov. 23. Adelphi was the favorite in the Northeast 10 Preseason Coaches' Poll in the Southwest Division.

Adelphi Spectator Policy
- Upon entry to the athletic facilities, all fans must show proof of vaccination OR a negative PCR test result within 72-hours of the event, OR a negative rapid test result within 24 hours of the event.

Southern fell to Holy Family, 87-62, on Sunday, Dec. 19, 2021 before going on winter break.
Ulyen Coleman (Brockton, Mass.) scored a team-high 16 points for Southern, while
Lyron Bennett (Boston, Mass.) added 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting to go with six assists and 10 rebounds. Off the bench,
Alex Lin (Hillsdale, N.J.) reached double figures in points for the with 10 on 4-of-6 shooting and 2-of-3 from three-point range.

Last Time They Met: Southern defeated Adelphi, 94-78, at the Center for Recreation and Sport in the Owls' final regular-season game of the 2019-2020 season. Bennett tied his career-high with a team-high 22 points, while
Levar Allen set a career-high with 21 points.
Isaiah Boissard (Walden, N.Y.) added 19 points while grabbing eight rebounds, and
Taurus Adams II (Milwaukee, Wisc.) scored 18 points.
Northeast 10 Weekly Honors
Week 6:
- Bennett was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll following his performance against Holy Family. He recorded his second double-double of the season and third of his career with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Bennett also dished out six assists while shooting 6-of-10 from the field and 2-of-5 from beyond the arc.
Week 5:
- Bennett was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll following his performances against Saint Rose and Lincoln. Bennett averaged 12 points, nine assists, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.5 steals per game.
Week 2:
- Coleman was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll after he scored 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting and 3-of-6 from three-point range on the road against Jefferson. He also recorded a career-high five steals to go along with three rebounds
Week 1
- Bennett was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll following his performances at the Bridgeport Tournament. Bennett averaged 16 points, 6.5 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game while going 11-for-17 from the field and 4-for-9 from three-point range.
