Women's Basketball Kicks Off Five-Game Road Trip at Le Moyne, Saint Michael's

The Southern Connecticut women's basketball team will begin a five-game road stint beginning with a Southwest Division matchup against Le Moyne College on Saturday, Feb. 12 before traveling to Colchester, Vt. on Monday, Feb. 14 for a cross-division matchup against Saint Michael's College. The Dolphins are back atop the Southwest Division of the Northeast 10, while the Owls are sitting in fifth behind Pace, Adelphi, and American International. Saint Michael's sits in seventh in the Northeast Division. 


Spectator Policies
Le Moyne College

  • Fans are allowed at all contests. Masks are always encouraged, but not required for outdoor events at this time. 
  • Masking indoors is mandatory on campus, regardless of vaccination status.

Saint Michael's College

  • In accordance with Saint Michael's College's COVID-19 policy, all employees, students and guests are required to wear masks when indoors in shared spaces on campus.


Last Time Out
Southern defeated Pace University, 62-44, at home on Feb. 8. Graduate student Jessica Fressle had a game-high 22 points on 59-percent shooting from the field along with 13 boards, three assists, and a steal. Senior Zoë Amalbert had 13 points, eight assists, and a steal. Sophomore Katie Williamson recorded eight points, five rebounds, and two blocks, while senior Delaney Connors chipped in eight assists and five rebounds. 


All-Time Against Le Moyne: 19-10
Last Time They Met: These two teams met just over a week ago in New Haven as the Owls defeated Le Moyne, 62-51, behind a 17 point, 10 rebound performance from Jessica Fressle, a 12 point five assist performance from Zoë Amalbert, and a seven assist performance from Delaney Connors

All-Time Against Saint Michael's: 20-10
Last Time They Met: Southern captured the victory, 54-51, at Moore Field House on Jan. 18, 2020. The Owls secured the win behind a 16 point performance from Imani Wheeler and a 10 point performance from Paula Tattari.

Southern Connecticut

  • The trio of Jessica Fressle, Zoë Amalbert, and Delaney Connors have been mainstays for Southern Connecticut, starting and playing in all 19 games for the Owls this season.
  • In her last five games, Jessica Fressle has averaged 18.8 points per game and 10.8 rebounds per game, while shooting 52-percent from the field. She leads the team this year with 332 total points.
  • Zoë Amalbert and Delaney Connors have combined for 59 assists in their last five games. Amalbert is averaging 13.3 points per game, while dishing out a conference-leading 6.6 assists per game, while Connors is averaging 12.6 points per game, 5.3 rebounds per game, 3.0 assists per game, while shooting 41-percent from the field.
  • The Owls are 3-2 in their last five games, all of which were played in a nine-day span.Their three wins included: Le Moyne (62-51), Saint Anselm (105-69), and Pace (62-44), while their losses were at the hands of No. 16 SNHU (64-70) and American International (59-70).

Le Moyne

  • The Dolphins are 4-1 in their last five outings with wins over Assumption (74-63), Saint Rose (58-46), and New Haven (69-53), while suffering a defeated to the Owls (51-62).
  • Le Moyne has been held down by the quartet of Emma Brinker, Lytoya Baker, Jenna Zimmerman, and Saeeda Abdul-Aziz, who have all started and played in all 18 games this season for the Dolphins. 
  • Brinker averages a team-high 15.2 points per game and 9.6 rebounds  per game, while chipping in 25 blocks on the season.
  • Baker has been arguably the most versatile player on the roster, averaging 10.1 points per game on 43-percent shooting from the field, 6.4 rebounds per game, while recording a team-leading 36 steals and is second on the team in assists with 48.

Saint Michael's

  • Nicole Anderson and Emma MacDonough are the leaders for the Purple Knights. 
  • Anderson averages 12.9 points per game on 34.6-percent shooting from the field, and has averaged 4.3 rebounds per game, and 3.6 assists per game. She has started 18 and played in 18 of the teams 19 games this season. 
  • MacDonough averages 11.2 points per game on 39-percent shooting from the field, and 4.5 rebounds per game. She has started and played in all 19 games. 


The Owls in the NE10

  • Zoë Amalbert is first in the conference in total assists with 125 and first in assists per game with 6.6. 
  • Jessica Fressle is second in rebounds per game (11.1) and fifth in the conference in points per game (17.5). Fressle is also third in free throws made (91-114), second in total rebounds with 210 and fifth in points (332).
  • Patricia Conroy is seventh in the conference in three-point shooting percentage (39.4).
  • As a team, the Owls are first in the conference in three-pointers made (157), first in assists with 16.8 per game, fourth in points per game (67.9), and fifth in free throw percentage (75.1).

  • Zoë Amalbert is fourth overall in assists per game (6.6) and seventh in total assists (125).
  • Jessica Fressle is 17th in rebounds per game (11.1) and tied for 31st in free throws made (91).
