The Southern Connecticut softball squad will welcome Assumption University for its home and conference opening doubleheader on Saturday, March 26. Then, on Sunday, March 27, American International College rolls into New Haven for a conference doubleheader with the Owls at Pelz Field.

All-Time Against Assumption: 18-34
The Last Time They Met: In their last meeting, the Owls took a 12-4 victory on March 24, 2019. Jacqueline Dumont went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs, while Liz DeRosa went 3-for-4 with four runs and one RBI.

All-Time Against AIC: 31-49
The Last Time They Met: The last time these two sides met was in the first round of the 2021 NE10 Tournament on May 4, 2021, where the Yellow Jackets took a 3-2 victory over the Owls.

Last Time Out
The Owls fell to Post University on Monday, March 21 in a pair of games, 9-1 and 3-1. Sophomore Katrina Roy had the hot bat for Southern going 4-for-6 at the plate, while adding a pair of RBI.  

Owl Notes

• Katrina Roy leads the team in hitting percentage (.542), slugging percentage (.708), on base percentage (.560), hits (13), doubles (4).
• Emily Lange (3-3), Liz DeRosa (2-2) and Jayden Delaporta (2-2) are all perfect on the base path so far this season.
• Jessica Perucki's 3-0 start in Florida marked the second time in as many years that a Southern pitcher has captured victories in their first three starts. Jazmyn Martinez started 3-0 in 2021. Prior to Martinez, the last time a Southern pitcher started 3-0 was Yesenia Evaristo during the 2014 season.

In the NE10

• In addition to leading the team, Roy also leads the conference in hitting percentage and is tied for fourth in doubles (4).
• Jazmyn Martinez is 10th in strikeouts (25).
• Jessica Perucki is one of six pitchers in the conference to have appeared in at least three games and allowed just one home run.
