3/8/2022 3:29:00 PM

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Southern Connecticut State University diver Andrew Buehler (Wallingford, Conn.) will compete in the 2022 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships, hosted by Queens (N.C.) University in Greensboro, N.C. on Mar. 9 and 11. Buehler participated in the qualifying event on Tuesday, Mar. 8 and will now compete in the preliminaries for the 1 Meter Diving Championship on Wednesday, Mar. 9 and the 3 Meter Diving Championship on Friday, Mar. 11.

NCAA Division II diving guidelines are outlined to invited 27 divers for the qualifying event where the top 18 are chosen to compete for the championships. Buehler finished ninth in the qualifying round on Tueday, Mar. 8 and will not move on to the championship on Wednesday and Friday. On Wednesday, Mar. 8, 1 Meter Diving Championship preliminaries round will begins at 2 p.m. with the finals set for the evening session, which begins at 6 p.m. The same schedule stands for the 3 Meter Diving Championship on Friday, Mar. 11. Live video and live results will be available for Owl fans to follow Buehler at the event.

Buehler is coming off the 2022 Northeast 10 Conference Championships in which he won the 1 Meter and 3 Meter championships for the second-straight year while also being named the Most Outstanding Diver of the NE10 Championships for the second-straight time. This is also Buehler's second trip to the NCAA Championships in two years of competition after traveling to the event in 2020. Buehler holds the distinction of being the last SCSU student-athlete to compete before the COVID-19 pandemic shutdown collegiate sports across the country. Buehler had competed in the NCAA 1 Meter preliminaries that morning and was set to compete in the finals later that day. He was awarded All-America status, which is typically bestowed upon the top eight finishers in the event.

Buehler was recently highlighted by the New Haven Register in a feature written by Dan Nowak. "SCSU's Buehler ready for another crack at the NCAA Division II diving championships" discusses Buehler's excitement about getting back to the NCAA's and features comments from Owls head coach Tim Quill and diving coach Stephen Etienne
