PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Southern Connecticut volleyball team dropped a pair of matches on the road at Keystone Arena to Kutztown University, 3-1, and Holy Family University, 3-0. With the losses, the Owls fell to 5-4 overall.
Game 1: Kutztown 3, Southern Connecticut 1
Gabriela Gaibur (Monroe, N.Y.) and
Payton Reis (West Palm Beach, Fla.) led Southern's offense against Kutztown. Gaibur had a team-high 12 kills along with 11 digs, while Reis recorded eight kills , and a service ace and block.
Heliceliz Rivera (Corozal, Puerto Rico) grabbed eight kills and two blocks, while
Aubrey Villena (San Diego, Calif.) had a career-high 24 digs.
Taylor Jones (Middletown, N.Y.) and
Lily Miller (Ottawa, Ill.) contributed 18 assists and 13 assists, respectively, while Jones also registered 10 digs and two service aces.
