Volleyball Routed By Kutztown, Holy Family

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Southern Connecticut volleyball team dropped a pair of matches on the road at Keystone Arena to Kutztown University, 3-1, and Holy Family University, 3-0. With the losses, the Owls fell to 5-4 overall.

Game 1: Kutztown 3, Southern Connecticut 1
Gabriela Gaibur (Monroe, N.Y.) and Payton Reis (West Palm Beach, Fla.) led Southern's offense against Kutztown. Gaibur had a team-high 12 kills along with 11 digs, while Reis recorded eight kills , and a service ace and block. Heliceliz Rivera (Corozal, Puerto Rico) grabbed eight kills and two blocks, while Aubrey Villena (San Diego, Calif.) had a career-high 24 digs. Taylor Jones (Middletown, N.Y.) and Lily Miller (Ottawa, Ill.) contributed 18 assists and 13 assists, respectively, while Jones also registered 10 digs and two service aces.

Gabriela Gaibur had eight kills for the Owls along with 10 digs and two blocks, while Payton Reis contributed six kills and a block. Aubrey Villena recorded 11 digs and three assists. Lily Miller had 15 assists in the loss.
