SCSU Women's Swimming & Diving Places Four On 2022-23 CSC Academic All-District® Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Southern Connecticut women's swimming & diving standouts Maddie Dean (Lawrence, Ks.), Faith Littleton Jackson, Mo.), Lindsay McCawley (Horseheads, N.Y.) and Olivia Strelevitz (Gales Ferry, Conn.) were named to the 2023 College Sports Communicators Academic All‐District® Women's Swimming & Diving Team. 

Student-athletes are eligible to receive Academic All-District® honors when the achieve a minimum 3.50 grade-point average and one year of enrollment at the nominating institution. Dean is pursuing a master's degree in psychology with a 3.54 cumulative GPA, while Littleton hoists a 3.925 GPA while completing her master's in social work. McCawley is a sophomore majoring in nursing with a 3.73 GPA while Strelevitz holds a 3.903 GPA while majoring in English. 

All four student-athletes played pivotal roles in the Owls' third straight Northeast 10 Conference Championship. Strelevitz led the Owls with six medals, including four championships, while Dean claimed four medals, with one championship. Littleton and McCawley both won three medals each, while McCawley won two championships.  

The 2022-23 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA — for each gender.
 
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in mid March. The CSC Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed at the links above.
 
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
