"I'm thrilled to promote him to this position with more responsibility in engaging our student-athletes and coaches and look forward to his direction of our staff. His leadership is critical to our success and I look forward to working with him in a greater capacity in the future."

Letkowski was previously promoted to Senior Associate Director of Athletics in 2021 and is currently in his 12th year with the Owls. Letkowski also served as the Owls' interim director of athletics for the Spring 2021 as well as the Fall 2023 semester.

Letkowski's responsibilities in addition to those that he will continue to oversee regarding NCAA compliance will include additional engagement in departmental vision, strategic and operational planning, student-athlete performance and experience, staff engagement and professional development, and policies and procedures management. Additionally, as the senior staff person in the department, he will oversee the internal operations of fiscal affairs, facilities and event management, apparel and equipment, and sport schedules and travel.

Letkowski will also be charged with designing, implementing and managing the department's enrollment management plan and will serve as the primary departmental liaison with SCSU Offices of Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar and Student Accounts.

Letkowski spent parts of two academic years at the University of Hartford, where he was responsible for daily compliance oversight of 18 athletic programs. He also conducted monthly compliance education meetings, prepared NCAA and institutional reports, including the National Letter of Intent program, and served as the financial aid and admissions liaison. Prior to his stint at Hartford, Letkowski was on the staff of the Fairfield University athletic department from 2009-11.
