Hannah Caiola and Cameron Belton Earn All-American Honors at NCAA DII National Championships

PUEBLO, Colo. - Southern Connecticut Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field standouts Cameron Belton and Hannah Caiola earned All-American Honors in the Shot Put and 400m Dash at the 2025 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field National Championships. Lawrence Hicks earned Second Team All-American Honors in the High Jump and 110m Hurdles.

It was another phenomenal championship performance for Cameron Belton after earning All-American Honors earlier this season at the Indoor National Championships. He placed second in the Shot Put, recording a personal best on his second throw of the day. He threw 18.87m (61' 11"), crushing his previous best of 18.54m (60' 10"). That is the second-best mark in SCSU Program History behind Turner Kelly's 19.67m from 2022. Belton caps off his final season with two All-American performances, totaling eight National Selections across six years with the Owls.

Hannah Caiola finished sixth in the 400m Dash with a time of 53.03, earning All-American Honors. It is her first time earning All-American honors after earning Second Team All-American honors at this year's Indoor National Championships (11th place finish) and last year's Outdoor National Championships (9th place finish). She is the only female athlete in SCSU history to break 54 seconds, which she did four times this season in each of her last four races.

Lawrence Hicks capped of his rookie year with a Second Team All-American performance in his first National Championship appearance. He cleared 2.07m (6' 9.5"), which landed him in a tie for 11th place. That height is tied for the ninth-best mark in SCSU History. This season, he became the eighth Owl to clear 2.10m or higher, and he cleared 2.07m or higher in each of his last three competitions, where he won the NE10 and New England Championships.

Natanael Barbosa Torres also competed in the Shot Put, placing 20th with a throw of 16.36m (53' 9"). He finishes his Owl career with two-straight National Championship selections.

The Owls finish the weekend in Pueblo with two All-Americans and two Second Team All-Americans. As a team, the men finished in a tie for 27th, and the women finished tied for 50th.
