Southern Connecticut State University Men's Cross Country sophomore Colton Sallum has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week following an impressive performance at the 2026 NEICAAA Cross Country Championships.

Sallum finished fourth overall in the men's 8K race at Hopkinton Fairgrounds in Contoocook, New Hampshire, with a time of 24:40.9. His performance made him the highest-finishing Division II runner in the field, while matching third-place finisher Sam Hodgson of Providence to the tenth of a second.

Sallum's fourth-place finish was the highest by a Southern Connecticut runner at the New England championships since Jonathan Volpe's regional title run in 2025. His performance helped lead the Owls to an eighth-place finish out of 20 scoring teams with 213 points.

Southern Connecticut was also the highest-finishing Northeast-10 Conference team at the meet, placing ahead of Bentley, Saint Michael's, Southern New Hampshire and Assumption.

Sallum and the Owls will return to action on Nov. 7 at the NE10 Championships in Garden City, New York, where Southern will look to defend its conference title.
