Djamilla Toukour Named NE10 Rookie of the Week

Southern Connecticut women's indoor track & field standout Djamilla Toukour was named the Northeast 10 Conference Rookie of the Week for the penultimate week of the 2025-26 regular season. It is Toukour's first time receiving the award. 

Toukour has been extremely impressive in her first season with the Owls. This past weekend at the Riverhawk Invitational, she placed 8th in the 400m dash with a personal-best time of 58.11, recording a PR for the second consecutive week. Toukour's time ranks third in the NE10 behind teammates Hannah Caiola and Avery Winters. She was also a part of the Owls 4x400m Relay team that recorded the second-fastest time in the conference. They set the fastest time the weekend before. 

Toukour and the Owls will head to Yale's Giegengack Invitational and Boston University's Valentine Invitational for their final regular season meets this weekend before heading the the NE10 Indoor Track & Field Championships the following weekend.
