WORCESTER, Mass. – The Southern Connecticut women's swimming and diving team captured their sixth straight NE10 title and 18
th NE10 title overall. They finished with a total of 957.5 points and 20 total medals, with seven medals secured on the final day. 13 different student athletes won the 20 individual and relay medals, throughout the four days of the NE10 Championship.
Molly Kennedy was named NE10 Most Outstanding Swimmer of the Meet, for the second straight year, after collecting seven medals, which included six gold medals and a silver medal. In addition, on the final day of the championship, she broke the 100 Yard Freestyle NE10 Championship record with a time of 50.52.
1650 Yard Freestyle
Paola Castillo secured the Silver Medal in a time of 17:41.55.
Sierra DuCharme finished in fourth place in a time of 17:59.18,
Claire Hanna came in fifth place in a time of 18:15.68 and
Ava Emmerich finished in sixth place in a time of 18:19.71.
100 Yard Freestyle
After breaking the 100 Yard Freestyle NE10 Championship Record in the prelims,
Molly Kennedy captured the Gold Medal in a time of 50.52.
Reina Loiacano came in ninth place in a time of 53.79 and
Jilian Pitchell came in 11
th place in a time of 54.72.
200 Yard Backstroke
Aralyn Vogel came in fourth place, in a time of 2:08.04,
Zoe McNeill finished in fifth place in a time of 2:08.93 and
Sara Roney came in seventh place in a time of 2:14.21.
200 Yard Breaststroke
Ellynn Baker secured the Silver Medal in a time of 2:23.25 and
Emma St. Hilaire captured the Bronze Medal in a time of 2:23.27.
Ally Quitos came in fifth place in a time of 2:26.96.
200 Yard Butterfly
Jasmine Uricchio secured the Gold Medal in a time of 2:06.31 and
Julia Pitchell captured the Silver Medal in a time of 2:06.51.
Paola Castillo finished in fifth place in a time of 2:11.25.
400 Yard Freestyle Relay
The "A" relay team of
