Before SCSU:
Gained extensive international experience in his native Dominican Republic...Placed third in the 200 backstroke and swam a leg of the 400 freestyle relay team that finished in second place at the 2008 Caribbean Island Championships...Also participated in the 2008 FINA World Youth Swimming Championships...Best finish came in the 100 freestyle, when he placed 47th...Attended Lux Mundi High School...Team captain as a senior.
