Ann Berry

Former Owls’ All-American Ann Berry is in her 13th season as an assistant coach with the Southern Connecticut State University field hockey program in 2025. She also serves as a Co-Advisor for the Owls' Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Berry was recently selected as a participant for the 2018 NCAA Women Coaches Academy. The Academy is for women coaches at NCAA Division I, II, or III member institutions. Since the first WCA session in 2003, forty-three Academies have taken place, producing more than 1,650 graduates.

As a student-athlete, Berry was a four-year starter and three-year captain from 2007-10. She captured All-America, All-ECAC, and All-Conference honors and was also selected to play in the NFHCA Senior All-Star Game in her final season. She was a two-time All-Conference performer who still holds the Owls’ single-season assist record, while ranking second in career assists and fifth in points.

Berry also excelled academically as a multiple NFHCA All-Academic Team pick and as a selection to the Northeast-10 Conference Field Hockey All-Academic Team.

She has additional coaching experience with the Futures Program, the HTC Field Hockey Club and with the Westport (Conn.) Middle School program.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies from SCSU and is currently working towards a master's degree in Sport Psychology. She resides in New Haven, Conn. with her son, Dimitrius, and daughter, Phaedra.
