Affiliated with SCSU for nearly four decades as a student-athlete, coach and faculty member, Mike Dodge is the department's athletic academic support coordinator.
Prior to this appointment, Dodge was a member of the football staff for 30 seasons and spent 26 years as the team's defensive coordinator.
A 1983 graduate of SCSU, Dodge played four years (1979-82) as a member of the secondary. The Owls registered a 23-15-2 (.600) record during his playing career.
Prior to taking over as defensive coordinator, Dodge coached the defensive backfield for four seasons.
He also has coaching experience at the scholastic level, having served as an assistant coach under former Owls defensive back Mike Guy at his alma mater, Housatonic Valley Regional High. As a student-athlete, he was football captain and a member of the basketball and track teams. Dodge is a 2008 inductee into the Housatonic Valley Regional Athletic Hall of Fame.
He holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from SCSU.
Dodge resides in North Haven with his wife, Lisa, a former Southern gymnast, and their sons, Thomas, Nicholas and Matthew.
