Tobe Carberry

New Haven native Tobe Carberry is in his third season as an assistant men's basketball coach at Southern Connecticut State University in 2009-10.

A former collegiate standout at the University of Vermont, Carberry went on to play professionally in the NBDL, the United States Basketball League and in Europe. 

Carberry ranked 13th on Vermont’s all-time scoring list with 1,235 points and also ranked in the Top 10 in games played, field goals, assists, steals and blocked shots at the conclusion of his career with the Catamounts.

In all, he appeared in 108 games (95 starts). Carberry reached double-figures on 63 occasions, including 12 20-point games. 

Carberry was a finalist in the 12th Annual National Slam Dunk contest at the Final Four in Indianapolis in 2000 and was given the 2000 New England Division I Unsung Hero Award by the New England Basketball Coaches Association. 

He has previous coaching experience at the Eastern Invitational and the Connecticut Skills Camp.
